What a wonderful, wonderful book from a series of wonderful books. Following through on her previous five in this series, Francis has done it again. A brilliantly laid out future society with many flawed characters. This volume has less sex than the previous ones, but the M/M relationship is still there, and the sex always moves the story forward anyway. The amazing twist in this story is that Carnac, the `good guy' who wants to rid the world of torture is totally evil, and you find yourself rooting for Toreth, the guy who tortures people for a living. A marvelous twist. This total `administration series' is perhaps the best M/M SciFi series around, and I highly recommend this newest volume. Hopefully there will be many more.

I have read from book one to book six so far, which is this one. Overall, the books flowed at a not so speedy pace, though if you don't mind situations being drawn out, as with any complexities in life, fiction or not, near sparsely written sex scenes, focally story-driven, then you just might like this book (alongside the previous ones). I know I do.

Both Toreth and Warrick still seem at a distance with one another, and yes, it is somewhat frustrating to see their relationship appear so stagnant after so many volumes. However, aside from their regular hook-ups and whatnot, the action and suspense portion delivered enough to allow me the pleasure of coming back time and time again.

Toreth can be a real brute to his Admin sometimes. I admire her for sticking by his side for so long.
